The hotel occupies what can be described as a prize winning location. Perched on the East Cliff, with panoramic views across the Estuary and the Romney Marshes, yet close to the High Street filled with quaint old shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. Even on approach to the hotel, the history of this Ancient Cinque Port is clearly visible when passing through the Landgate, an ancient monument built in 1326 as the entrance to the town and part of the town fortifications. It is very easy to forget that you are less than an hour's train ride from London.
